Many times when we are facing difficult situations we are praying for God to do something we want him to do. We seek answers to situations, questions we may have, outcomes to turn our way. But in this we often forget that God's divine plan is greater for us than we know or can even imagine. In these times of prayer, let us remember as Jesus did in Gethsemane "Not my will but your will be done." In remembering this, we will be able to accept any outcome regardless if it is what we want or not.
"Holy God, I come to you today with the struggles of my life, you know the challenges I face, you know the heartache, and the trials, you alone know my pain. In these trying times, forgive me for not trusting in you, forgive me for not having enough faith, for not believing as I should. Help me in my unbelief. Help me to know that your will for me is greater than my will for myself. Help me to trust in your will and to accept it what ever it may be. Help me to believe in the outcome no matter what it turns out to be, knowing that your plan for my life is so great and wonderful. Help me to know, without a doubt that you will be with me through all of what life brings my way. And to know that your desire for me is nothing but good.
In your holy name I pray. Amen"
