Often times in our daily lives we are bombarded with "things" that distract us from hearing God. We strive to hear and still we cannot. Yesterday, my wife and I were discussing this and she commented that she is praying for God to shout to us. Since we sometimes, oftentimes cannot seem to hear him. Maybe you too are in a situation where you need God to shout to you so you can hear him.
"Dear Lord, today I come with an open heart and open ears. Today I come to you with a willingness to listen to what you have in store for me. Help me to hear you, to listen carefully to your voice, to notice your comments through the words of others, through the circumstances of the day, through the actions of others. Let me be open to discerning your voice. Speak to me Oh God, shout to me, penetrate my calloused heart and deaf ears, help me to hear and to know it is you. And give me the courage to act on what I hear. In your name I pray. Amen"
