Praying for our Family

If you are like me, too often you take those closest to you for granted, and overlook the passion and compassion you have for them. It is those closest to you that need our prayers the most, and yet, becasue we are with them more are the most neglected. Sure we may lift up general prayers, but how about specific ones for our families? Our spouses, children, parents, etc.

"Dear God, I come to you today giving you thanks for all that you are and all you have given me, it is in your name that I lift up before you the care of me Spouse by name I honor her (him) and give you thanks for bring her (him) into my life. For the love we share for one another, for the love we share for you, for the love we share for our children. I give you thanks for her (him) and for all they are, for how she (he) makes me a better person, and for the support she (he) give me. Honor her (him) as I honor you.

For my parents, who never stop parenting regardless of our age, for their health, and well being, we give you thanks, care for them in their lives and be with them.

For our children, we again give them to you. You have entrusted us to care for your child, help us to be good parents, to be models that you would be proud of, to be the type of parents that you would ahve for us to be. To honor you before them, help us to make good decisions for them,
to continually lift them up before you. We give you praise for them and for the honor you for giving us the privlidge of being their parents. For your trust in us to rear your child.

For the rest of our family, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins, aunts and uncles and for all those we forgot to list. Shine your love on them and let all of our family feel your presence in their lives. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen"
