"Dear Lord, forgive me for not being who you want me to be. Forgive me for not hearing your call in my life, for not listening when you speak. Too often I do not do what you ask of me, but what I desire. Help me to listen, to hear, and to understand. Allow me the wisdom to understand the events of my day and to seize the opportunity to witness for you in positive ways. Allow me to seek your face in the face of others even and especially those I do not agree with. Remind me that all people carry your image, and forgive me for not realizing that most times.
As I go through this day, help me to love you more, help me to love others more, help me to recognize you in those I see and to appreciate them for being yours.
