Patience in Times of Frustration

Often we are seeking God's will for our lives and we want or feel we need answers NOW. We are confounded and frustrated that God does not respond as we wish or feel he could. We wonder why things take so long and why life is often hurtful and painful. It is in these times we need to ask him for patience and understanding.

"Dear God, today I am frustrated, today I don't feel your presence as I would like. Today, I am seeking you and cannot find you. I look and all I see are obstacles and the pain of life. Help me to be patient, help me to know you're working, help me to know your will is active in my life and to believe that you are working for my good.

As I go through this day, let me know that you have my interest in mind, that you are hearing my pain, and seeing my frustration. Help me to believe and to know that you are God and you are love. Help me to feel your love for me, to be refreshed in your grace, and to know that nothing can separate me from the "love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:39) Help me to not only know it, but to believe it, to embrace it and to use that understanding to have a good day and to feel you with me. Bless me today and help me not to see the struggles I face as obstacles but as opportunities to love you more, to honor you more and to believe in you more. In your name I pray. Amen"
