Sabbath

Last night at church we had a presentation on the importance of Sabbath. How this Gift from God to humanity has been largely wasted and squandered. I too am guilty of now enjoying the blessing of a sabbath.

"Dear Lord, your word tells us that you rested, it tells us to "remember the sabbath and to keep it holy." in this world we live in we are inundated with pressures, desires and lusts of our hearts to ignore one of your greatest gifts, the gift of sabbath. Help me today to embrace all of your gifts, to see them as they are, gifts from you. Rest is vital to our ability to allow ourselves to catch up and become invigorated with new desire and passion. Help me to change my ways and to see the sabbath as more than football, picnics and church services, rather it is time for my body and soul to rest and seek you. Allow me the peace that comes with this decision, to not be influenced by our society of business. Rather to enjoy all that you have given us.
