God's Providence

God's providence is something we all (most all) know about but seldom embrace as a guiding light for our lives. Today we will pray that during this Advent season we will recognize God's providence in our lives and in the decisions we make.

"Dear Lord of this earth, I thank you that you came for me, I thank you that you came into this world as you did, and changed history, that your love is so great that all of humanity was changed forever. Help me Lord to recognize you in my life. To see your plan for me as it unfolds, to know that in your infinite wisdom, your will and plan is far greater than i could ever plan for myself. To know that what is in store for me is the greatest thing for my life. While I may not have the wisdom to recognize the benefits of the things that happen to me, I will know that your will is sufficient, that your grace is sufficient, that your love is sufficient.

In the decisions before us today and in the days to come, let me be keenly aware of your work in all things, and to see your glory in it all. To understand that your will is at work. And to know with certainty that you want the best for me. Let me embrace all of the challenges to today and use them to glorify you and to take the opportunities when presented to make you known to all I come in contact with. In your name I pray, Amen."
